Los Angeles based guitarist Kevin Holmes performs with many ensembles that span a wide range of musical styles. He accompanies Ed Peffer (woodwinds) in a jazz duo that entertains at weddings and receptions. He performs with Jazz/Pop singer Helen Slater at local Los Angeles venues including recurring engagements at Genghis Cohen. He also performs solo and with his trio at Uartu restaurant and Tribal Cafe in Los Angeles and at Kaldi Coffee in South Pasadena.

He is a contributing composer for the Bravo series “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” and has done sessions for the Discovery Channel, Spike TV and other television networks. He has worked with Chile Verde, a Latin-Jazz ensemble, in Japan and locally. Also, he has contributed his nylon-string guitar work to Benise, a Nouveau Flamenco trio, and his Jazz guitar sounds Karl Marsh Jazz Quintet.

Kevin holds a M.M. degree in guitar performance from Cal State University Los Angeles and has attended the USC Thornton School (Studio/Jazz guitar) for two years working towards a D.M.A. He has studied with many outstanding guitarists including Joe Diorio, Pat Kelley, Frank Potenza, Ted Greene, and Jean-Marc Belkadi.

He has instructed guitar at The Los Angeles Music and Art School, at the Marlborough summer program, the Chandler School in Pasadena and at Murchison Elementary School as part of the House of Blues music outreach program. He also has a studio of private guitar students.
